*Nupafeed CALMdog is a pet supplement*

CALMdog® is a completely different type of canine calming supplement. Unlike other products, CalmDog® does not include any sedative ingredients such as valerian, herbs or L-tryptophan. Our key ingredient is MAH® magnesium, which works by helping your dog to cope with the stresses of everyday life, work, and competition.

All animals need to have the correct balance of calcium and magnesium. When a dog is highly strung or becomes stressed, anxious, nervous or excited, they burn off magnesium. This allows calcium to overload muscle and nerve cells and replicates the rise of adrenaline. This can cause erratic behavior, sensitivity, nervousness, aggression and/or tension.

Verla-Pharm, pioneered a unique method of refining magnesium to create Magnesium aspartate-hydrochloride - MAH®. A uniquely different and superior grade of magnesium that is exclusive to Nupafeed®.

Magnesium Supplement contains MAH® (magnesium-aspartate-hydrochloride). CALMdog® with its high absorption rate and increased bio-availability has been able to help many dogs that need additional magnesium to perform at their best.

  • Magnesium - Aspartate - Hydrochloride (MAH®)
  • Water
  • Potassium Sorbate (preservative)

How do I feed CALMdog?

Which is better for my dog: CALMdog Tablets or CALMdog Liquid?

For dogs under 10lbs we recommend the liquid because it can be easily measured in tiny amounts.

Otherwise you should choose whichever you feel would be easiest to feed. The tablets can easily be split in half. The liquid comes with a syringe which you can use for administration directly into the mouth.

Will CALMdog compromise my dogs performance?

CALMdog does not contain valerian, L-tryptophan or any other potentially drowsy ingredients. Magnesium is an essential nutrient and efficiently regulated through urinal excretion, so it will not compromise your dog’s performance.

How long does CALMdog take to work?

For generally stressful dogs, it usually takes approx 5-7 days. If you do not see an improvement after this time you can increase the feeding level.

CALMdog can also be used for shorter periods such as competition or fireworks. However, you will need to begin feeding approx 5 days before.

Can I give my dog too much CALMdog?

Low grades of magnesium can act as a laxative and cause diarrhea. Due to the fact that they are poorly absorbed in the stomach it leaves a lot of magnesium entering the gut. The magnesium will then attract water into the gut causing dehydration which could lead to dehydration. Since CALMdog has a higher absorption rate a much smaller amount enters the gut.

Can I give CALMdog with other supplements or veterinary medication?

Magnesium can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics, it is therefore best to feed them at least two hours apart.

There are no other known interactions, CALMdog is generally very safe and can be used alongside other supplements.

How long can I give CALMdog for?

As long as you need to, permanently if necessary although most dogs improve with time allowing you to reduce the feeding rate and eventually stop using it.

Are there any contraindications for use with CALMdog?

You should not feed CALMdog to a dog that may be suffering from struvite stones, or if they are susceptible to struvite stones and recurrent urinary tract infections.

CALMdog should not be used with dogs that suffer renal insufficiency as the kidneys are responsible for regulating blood magnesium. Always consult your vet if unsure.

Can CALMdog help with constant barking?

Often, yes. It just depends on the reason for the barking. If it is a stress behaviour the Stress-Less usually helps
